In Kooperation mit Objectif Sciences International (OSI) beteiligten wir uns am Hackathon for Ocean Participatory Science – einem innovativen Format, das Bürger:innen, Wissenschaftler:innen und Organisationen aus aller Welt zusammenbringt.

Die UN Ozeankonferenz in Nizza und Monaco war zweifellos das bislang bedeutendste internationale Gipfeltreffen zum Schutz des Ozeans.

Die Deutsche Meeresstiftung lädt im Rahmen des „Langen Tags der StadtNatur“ zu einem spannenden Mikroskopier-Workshop ein.

Wir waren am Wochenende auf dem Blue Economy Financial Forum in Monaco zusammen mit Hunderten von Vertretern aus Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und Finanzwelt. Die UN-Ozeankonferenz wurde heute in Nizza eröffnet.

Wir haben eine ganz besondere Nachricht erhalten: Unser Projekt wurde offiziell als Beitrag zur UN-Ozeandekade anerkannt! 

Der One Ocean Science Congress beginnt diese Woche als Vorläufer der UN-Ozeankonferenz in Nizza, Frankreich. Wir werden unser Citizen-Science-Projekt mit einem von insgesamt 600 Postern den 2.000 Wissenschaftlern aus aller Welt vorstellen.

Die Stiftung veranstaltet gemeinsam mit Step. and GO!, Terra Scientifica, Objectif Sciences International und dem Forum de Genève den Hackathon, bei dem übe 50 Teilnehmer:innen die Chance haben, innovative Lösungen für den Schutz und die nachhaltige Bewirtschaftung des Ozeans zu entwickeln.

Ab dem 4. Juni wird unser Team in Nizza sein, um unsere Citizen Science Projekt und unsere Projekte zur Meeresbildung in La Baleine, an der Université Côte d'Azur und an Bord der METEOR und der Malizia Explorer im Hafen vorzustellen.

Wenn du ein Meeresschutzprojekt hast, bewirb dich jetzt und werde Teil der globalen Bewegung zum Schutz des Meeres! Reiche dein Meeresschutzprojekt ein und sei unter den Nominierten. Das Gewinnerteam erhält ein Preisgeld von 20.000 Euro, um sein Projekt voranzubringen.

Anlässlich der UN-Ozeankonferenz lädt die Deutsche Gesellschaft für die Vereinten Nationen mit der Deutschen Meeresstiftung, den Botschaften von Frankreich und Costa-Rica, Brot für die Welt und Fair Oceans zu einer Veranstaltung zum Schutz und der nachhaltigen Nutzung der Weltmeere am 27. Mai um 17 Uhr ein.

In diesem ersten Dialog widmen wir uns der ersten Herausforderung der UN-Ozeandekade, ein sauberer Ozean, in dem die Quellen für Verschmutzung bekannt sind und die Einträge reduziert oder beseitigt werden, mit besonderem Blick auf die Ostsee, den HELCOM-Aktionsplan für die Ostsee und die Arbeit der Sea Terra GmbH im Bereich der Kampfmittelräumung und -entsorgung. Online am Donnerstag, 15. Mai um 17 Uhr.

Circa 400 Delegierte treffen sich heute zur ersten deutschen Nationalen Meereskonferenz, die von der noch amtierenden Umweltministerin Steffi Lemke eröffnet wurde und insbesondere die Politik Verwaltung und Wissenschaft und einige ausgewählte Nichtregierungsorganisationen teilnehmen.

The German Ocean Foundation is calling on all ocean heroes to take part in our media campaign - we want to highlight the great work being done around the world for our ocean. If you are involved in a positive project to protect, restore or clean up the ocean or raise awareness for the ocean - either with the support of an organization or on your own - then we want to hear from you!

The German Ocean Foundation brings the ocean into the planetarium - and opens up new perspectives on the smallest and biggest secrets of our world. In an innovative pilot project, impressive images of microorganisms were produced in two workshops in Niendorf on the Baltic Sea using high-resolution cameras and state-of-the-art microscopes - in close collaboration with the team of experts from ZEISS.

The Ocean Science Multimedia Exhibition of the German Ocean Foundation offers a place of learning for all students from the 5th grade onwards who are interested in the UN Ocean Decade and the challenges facing our oceans today.

Immerse yourself in the world of the oceans and let yourself be carried away by breathtaking stories and impressive images! This month, the International OCEAN FILM TOUR will stop in Düsseldorf (April 5) and Berlin (April 6) - and we, the German Ocean Foundation, will be there live on stage!

Frank, in his role as a member of the EU Mission Board to Restore Our Oceans and Waters, will present his policy ideas in an online webinar on the occasion of World Water Day, 'The Hydrosphere in Focus: Safeguarding Water for a Sustainable Future', organized by the Institute for Sustainable Development in collaboration with Verimpact, taking place on Thursday, 27 March 2025 at 14:00 CET.
