Teams can apply for the "Research at Sea" 2025 marine competition until May 10, 2025. In the multi-award-winning marine competition, teams of school students apply with their own research ideas for a one-week marine research expedition in the summer.

Ocean hackathon in Nice
The German Ocean Foundation is partnering with Step. and GO!, Terra Scientifica, Objectif Sciences International and the Forum de Genève for the "Participatory Science for Ocean" hackathon in Nice in June 2025, offering everyone - ocean enthusiasts, students and professionals - the chance to develop innovative solutions for the ocean conservation and sustainable ocean management.
The Hackathon offers you the opportunity to contribute to global challenges, develop your skills and expand your professional network - and present your projects at the United Nations Ocean Conference.

Erster Parlamentarischer Meeresabend 2025: Deutschland und der Ozean
Die Meere haben für die Zukunft der Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft in Deutschland eine wesentlich größere Bedeutung als sich dies derzeit im politischen Handeln wiederspiegelt. Mit diesem parlamentarischen Meeresabend möchte die Deutsche Meeresstiftung den Dialog mit der Politik anstoßen und den Ozean auch zur politischen Priorität machen.
Invisible worlds: From the microcosm in the ocean to the universe
The German Ocean Foundation brings the ocean into the planetarium - and opens up new perspectives on the smallest and biggest secrets of our world. In an innovative pilot project, impressive images of microorganisms were produced in two workshops in Niendorf on the Baltic Sea using high-resolution cameras and state-of-the-art microscopes - in close collaboration with the team of experts from ZEISS.
'Focus on the hydrosphere: water protection for a sustainable future'
Frank, in his role as a member of the EU Mission Board to Restore Our Oceans and Waters, will present his policy ideas in an online webinar on the occasion of World Water Day, 'The Hydrosphere in Focus: Safeguarding Water for a Sustainable Future', organized by the Institute for Sustainable Development in collaboration with Verimpact, taking place on Thursday, 27 March 2025 at 14:00 CET.
